Moore, OK Disc Golf Association Relief Drive
On Monday May 23, 2013, an EF-5 tornado ripped through the community of Moore, OK. The storm left a path of devastation over 17 miles long that killed 24 people, 10 of which were children, and injuring 377 others.* This storm destroyed homes, hospitals, and schools, but it also destroyed several parks in the Moore area. The disc golf course in Moore was completely destroyed as well. Innova disc golf has generously offered to furnish the baskets, but as many of you know, a course is much more than baskets.
People will shout, "Homes and schools are more important and the money should go there!" The fact is public spaces are equally as important. People need a place to go a release. To go and spend time with their friends and family and take a mental break from the devastation that surrounds them. The Rocket City Chain Gang wants to support this effort. The club will be donating money from its course improvement fund to help with this effort, but we would love to see our members and friends help out as well. By clicking on the button below, you can donate $5 to this relief effort with 100% of the money going to Moore DGA. This is 100% tax deductible and a copy of the letter from the Oklahoma Disc Golf Foundation can be found below. Print a copy of this for your tax records.
For more information on how Innova and the PDGA are helping with the rebuilding effort, click on either the PDGA or Innova link below.
Thank you for your time and your consideration.

Below is a letter from the president of the Oklahoma Disc Golf Foundation that states their plan for rebuilding the parks system.
Dear Sir or Madam:
The Oklahoma Disc Golf Foundation is partnering with the Moore Oklahoma Disc Golf Association to provide relief to the City of Moore park system after the devastating tornado this month. The Little River Disc Golf course was completely destroyed, and of course, we want to rebuild it, but our goals do not stop there. We, members of the disc golf community want to help to rebuild the park system as a whole to help the community that suffers such great losses in this disaster.
We need funds to replace park benches, playground equipment, disc golf baskets and tee signs, etc. Significant clean-up activities will need to preceed any equipment replacement, and we have an eager crew of disc golfers who have the muscle, will, and heart to get out there and make things happen.
Please consider a donation to the Oklahoma Disc Golf Foundation. We are an Oklahoma not for profit corporation with a 501(c)(3) tax exempt designation by the Internal Revenue Service. Our DLN is 17053208352010. Our federal tax ID Number is 27-1884165.
Make any check payable to OKDGF, and indicate Moore Tornado Relief Fund in the memo line. Any donation will be tax deductible.
